Role description
Title: Data Engineer Location: Cupertino, CA—(Hybrid 3 days On-Site and 2 days Remote) Need Local candidates only Type of Hire: Contract 6- 12 months Job Description Key Qualifications: • Strong proficiency in databases, data visualization and reporting tools such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, Tableau, Business Objects, ThoughtSpot and others. • Hands-on experience with querying of data and creating data sources to provide analysis and present data to the customers. • Experienced in data driven approach, implement techniques for data reconciliation in systems with high frequency loads and business critical environments. • Experience working in Legal domain, understanding of business and practice of law, terminology, and operations. • Strong data analysis skills along with experience in detailed analysis of source systems, data profiling, measures and KPI definitions. • Ability to collaborate with business partners within legal and engineering departments on business requirements, system design, data insights, user testing, and product launches. • Collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams consisting of lawyers, paralegals, and other professionals. • Understanding of legal and ethical considerations of handling confidential information and maintaining data privacy and security. • Analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at troubleshooting technical issues related to reporting & data visualization products (e.g. Business Objects and Tableau) • Understand data visualization principles and best practices, capable of translating sophisticated data into compelling visual stories. • Should have excellent communication and collaborative skills. Ability to interpret technical lingo to end users. • Proven track record to excel in a fast-paced agile development team. • Strong sense of execution and accountability for the overall success of the program. Additional Requirements: • Experience using AI/ML for data reconciliation, integrity, integrations, and data insights. • Experience using TeamConnect or any Legal application is a plus. • Experience spearheading adoption of Data Management Office (DMO) principles is a plus. • Understanding of data security and access control best practices. • Experience in large scale and complex Data Migration projects. • Understanding of Dimensional Modeling and Data Warehousing concepts. • Knowledge of data engineering concepts and ETL processes. • Experience in project collaboration products such as Jira, Quip, Miro, Box • Experience with a scripting language for data processing and development (e.g., Python, R)
