Role description
Position: Data Platform Engineer
Location: Bracknell, UK
The role requires the resource to be onsite 2 days a week in Bracknell, UK
Contract: 6+ months
Role: Data Platform Engineer (OnShore)
Core Requirements
• Experience: 5+ years in data platform engineering.
• Cloud Expertise:
o AWS: RDS, Redshift, DMS, Lambda.
o OCI Cloud data services.
o Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation.
• Replication & Streaming:
o IBM CDC replication technologies.
o Confluent Kafka.
o IBM Voltage encryption.
• NoSQL Expertise:
o Strong in Couchbase cluster management.
o Version upgrades, security patching, performance tuning.
o High availability via node scaling and rebalancing.
• Programming & Automation:
o Python & Shell scripting.
o Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Systems Knowledge:
o Linux/Unix environments.
o Networking protocols.
o Ownership of production systems.
• Soft Skills:
o Excellent communication.
o Comfortable working across IST & US Eastern time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
• AWS Advanced Certifications.
• Multi-cloud platform exposure.
• Distributed systems architecture experience.
• Hands-on with Kafka streaming platforms.
• Couchbase (or similar NoSQL) cluster admin experience.
