About the Client Our client is a large, tech forward healthcare and financial technology organization focused on modernizing their finance, treasury, and accounting data capabilities. They are scaling cloud native data platforms to improve accuracy, reconciliation, billing, reporting, and operational accounting processes. Role Details β€’ Role: Data Engineer: Finance and Accounting β€’ Location: Hybrid (one day per week near NYC) β€’ Length: 6 month initial contract, likely extension β€’ Utilization: 40 hours per week β€’ Pay Range: $60-$80/hr β€’ Benefits: W2 candidates eligible for healthcare, dental, vision, and 401k The Role This Data Engineer will supportend to end delivery of cloud based data solutions supporting finance, treasury, billing, payments, and accounting workflows. You will design Snowflake‑based architectures, build dbt transformations, ensure audit ready data pipelines, and support the technical leader driving high quality engineering work. The role requires finance domain understanding, advanced SQL, and the ability to partner closely with Accounting, FP&A, and Finance stakeholders. Key Responsibilities β€’ Design and deliver Snowflake data architectures and dbt transformation pipelines for financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting workflows. β€’ Build reliable data pipelines for general ledger, revenue, payments, claims, billing, and operational finance use cases. β€’ Translate financial and accounting requirements into scalable data products. β€’ Support cloud migration from on premises financial data systems into modern cloud environments. β€’ Establish strong data quality controls, observability, and governance standards aligned to financial regulations. β€’ Use AI assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to improve velocity, testing, and overall engineering quality. Requirements: Must Have β€’ 4 plus years in data engineering. β€’ Finance and accounting domain experience: general ledger, revenue, payments, claims, billing, or financial reporting. β€’ Hands on Snowflake experience plus strong dbt development. β€’ Advanced SQL including reconciliation logic and performance tuning. β€’ Experience building and maintaining financial data warehouses or lakes. β€’ Experience migrating SQL based financial systems to cloud environments. β€’ Strong communication skills with stakeholders. β€’ Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
