We are seeking a Data Engineer to support Enterprise Analytics & KPI Reporting for a leading organization in the healthcare and health insurance sector. Our client is investing in enterprise-level analytics capabilities to improve affordability insights, guide strategic decisions, and advance long-term organizational goals. You will work closely with business teams, project teams, technology groups, and external partners to deliver high-quality data architecture and integration solutions. Job Description
The Data Engineer will play a key role in developing an enterprise affordability dashboard designed to provide insight into key metrics, performance trends, and strategic indicators. The role includes supporting data integration, architecture, and testing activities that drive analytical capabilities across the organization.
You will participate in the full lifecycle of data solution development, including user story execution, design, prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with both structured and unstructured data, and adept at contributing to medium-to-large project efforts within an agile environment.
Responsibilities
• Participate in the creation, review, and enhancement of complex data solutions, including standards for user story development, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Design and develop prototypes or production-ready data solutions to support measurement and monitoring of key performance indicators.
• Identify and implement improvements to existing data artifacts to align with enterprise strategy and enhance user experience.
• Ensure test environments and datasets are appropriately prepared for project and support deliverables.
• Execute and maintain manual and automated test cases and scripts as assigned.
• Analyze test results, document defects, and support resolution processes following incident management standards.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience; all forms of experience (work, education, transferable skills, military) will be considered.
• Experience developing data integration solutions.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, data analysis, user story development, data warehouse design/modeling (3rd normal form or dimensional), and data integration design/development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey moderately complex technical concepts.
• Proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams with diverse professional backgrounds.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with enterprise teams and stakeholders to support project execution and issue resolution.
• Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to improve business operations and increase efficiency.
• Ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced agile environment.
• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Hands-on experience with one or more data warehouse or big data technologies.
• Experience with AWS cloud storage, ETL/ELT processes, and orchestration tools.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of the healthcare or health-insurance industry.
• Working knowledge of UNIX environments, including shell scripting and job scheduling (ideally StoneBranch).
