Role description
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with strong expertise in ETL development and hands-on experience with IBM DataStage and DB2. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and supporting business intelligence and analytics initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using IBM DataStage. Work with DB2 databases to extract, transform, and load large datasets efficiently. Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Optimize ETL jobs for performance, scalability, and reliability. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across all data systems. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in production environments. Participate in data integration, migration, and modernization projects. Required Skills: Strong experience with ETL tools, specifically IBM DataStage. Proficiency in working with DB2 or other relational databases. Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and SQL performance tuning. Experience with batch scheduling, version control, and deployment of ETL code. Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills. Good to Have: Experience with Netezza or other MPP (Massively Parallel Processing) data warehouse platforms. Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms or migration projects. Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Job Type: Contract Pay: From $50.00 per hour Work Location: Remote
