Role description
Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric) – Contract We're supporting a client who is accelerating delivery on their Microsoft Fabric data platform and requires a Data Engineer contractor to help drive progress immediately. Hybrid – Buckinghamshire (majority remote) 3 Month Contract (Initial) Start: ASAP IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Rate: £500 – £650 per day (Inside IR35) The Opportunity The organisation is in the early stages of its Fabric journey, with some existing components in place but significant work required to bring the platform up to the desired standard. There is strong pressure to deliver quickly, making this an ideal role for someone who can: • Get up to speed fast • Work independently • Deliver tangible outcomes from day one • What You'll Be Doing • Building and enhancing data pipelines across multiple sources • Working across Fabric components (lakehouse, warehousing, analytics) • Supporting data ingestion, transformation, and modelling • Helping improve how data is structured and delivered to the business • Working across medallion architecture layers (bronze/silver/gold) • Troubleshooting and optimising performance What They're Looking For • Strong hands-on experience with PySpark and SQL • Proven experience working with Microsoft Fabric • Experience in Azure Data Factory • Background in enterprise-scale data environments • Ability to work autonomously and deliver at pace • Key Traits for Success • Comfortable in less-defined environments • Able to pick up work and run with it • Willing to contribute ideas, not just execute tasks • Strong problem-solving mindset To progress matters, send your CV to Laura at lramm@itecopeople.co.uk Services advertised are those of Employment Business
