Role description
Senior Endevor Engineer (Mainframe Change & Release) London (2 days per week in office) Outside IR35 Contract 6 Months Competitive / Negotiable Rate We are seeking a Senior Endevor Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise mainframe environment and contribute to ongoing modernisation of change, release, and integration processes. This role is focused on hands-on engineering work with CA Endevor Software Change Manager, alongside automation and integration with modern tooling and DevOps-aligned practices. Key Responsibilities • Perform day-to-day Endevor administration and support • Lead automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and operational toil • Integrate Endevor with GitHub via bridge technologies • Support API-based integration with Endevor • Work with CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins and mZooM • Support mainframe build and release processes • Collaborate with global development and infrastructure teams • Contribute to improvements in SDLC and deployment standards • Provide incident support and participate in out-of-hours rota if required Required Experience • Strong hands-on experience with Endevor administration and configuration • Deep knowledge of mainframe environments including COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM • Strong understanding of change management and SDLC processes • Experience working in Agile and enterprise environments • Ability to work independently and within global teams • Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills Desirable Experience • GitHub integration with mainframe tooling • API integration or development experience • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint • Exposure to large-scale regulated environments • 15+ years mainframe engineering experience preferred This is an opportunity to join a major transformation programme modernising critical mainframe systems and improving integration between legacy platforms and modern development tooling.
