Data Engineer

Description We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this long-term contract role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of robust data infrastructures that support business intelligence solutions. Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructures to support business intelligence needs. Develop and implement data models and frameworks that optimize data analysis and reporting. Collaborate with business partners to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions. Lead initiatives in business intelligence projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Apply compliance standards within project scope, document processes, and participate in related activities. Utilize industry knowledge to enhance data solutions and provide informed recommendations. Work on the full data warehouse lifecycle, including data analysis, dimensional modeling, and design. Solve complex problems using proven methodologies and adapt them to new challenges. Assist team members informally with troubleshooting and knowledge sharing. Leverage tools such as Apache Spark, Python, Hadoop, Kafka, and ETL processes to optimize data workflows. Requirements Proficiency in SQL, SSIS, SSAS, and ETL processes. Strong understanding of business intelligence methodologies, tools, and techniques. Experience with data warehouse lifecycle processes, including data modeling and dimensional design. Familiarity with data structures used for calculations and analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration. Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team setting. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and drive projects forward. General knowledge of business functions and their integration with data platforms and products.
