Salary: DOE Description We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team on a long-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, leveraging Python and Databricks to build and optimize data pipelines. This role is based in Houston, Texas, and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities • Develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and Databricks. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define data requirements. • Implement and optimize algorithms for data processing and analytics. • Design and deploy data models that support efficient querying and data visualization. • Leverage cloud technologies, including AWS, to enhance data infrastructure. • Integrate and manage data streaming solutions using Apache Kafka. • Utilize Apache Spark and Hadoop for large-scale data processing tasks. • Create and maintain APIs to support seamless data access and integration. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in data workflows and pipelines. Requirements • Proficiency in Python and experience working with Databricks. • Strong knowledge of data streaming tools such as Apache Kafka. • Expertise in big data frameworks, including Apache Spark and Hadoop. • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS. • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques. • Background in implementing algorithms for data analytics. • Understanding of API development and integration. • Knowledge of additional tools such as Apache Pig is a plus.
