Job Description
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing data solutions to support HR analytics, KPI reporting, and workforce insights for a leading financial services client. This role involves developing scalable Snowflake data models, integrating Workday data, ensuring data quality, and enabling actionable HR insights.
Key Responsibilities:
• Translate business needs into data modeling strategies and implement Snowflake data models to support HR analytics and reporting.
• Design, build, and maintain Snowflake objects including tables, views, and stored procedures.
• Develop and execute SQL/Python-based data transformations, data cleansing, validation, and conversion processes.
• Establish and enforce data governance standards to ensure data consistency, quality, and completeness.
• Maintain technical metadata and documentation for data warehousing and migration initiatives.
• Monitor, optimize, and tune data transformation pipelines and Workday integrations.
• Design, configure, and optimize integrations between Workday and downstream applications.
• Participate in unit, integration, and regression testing efforts.
• Support data analysis, troubleshooting, and enhancement throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Required Experience & Skills:
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms.
• Strong SQL expertise with experience in data transformation and optimization.
• Experience with ETL processes, data validation, and reconciliation.
• Understanding of HR data structures and relationships.
• Experience developing solutions using Python.
• Experience architecting or supporting HR data warehousing solutions integrating Workday or similar HRIS.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
• Experience building or supporting HR-focused data warehouses.
• Experience with SCD Type 2 implementations.
• Exposure to Tableau or other BI/data visualization tools.
• Experience with ELT frameworks like dbt or modern data architecture patterns.
• Understanding of HR compliance standards and data governance best practices.
