Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer (FME / ArcGIS) – Contract (Outside IR35) We’re supporting a major UK utilities organisation on a large-scale GIS transformation programme, migrating legacy systems to the ArcGIS platform and ESRI Utility Network model. They’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong FME expertise to support data integration, interface design, and migration activities. Key Responsibilities • Design and build data interfaces into ArcGIS • Develop and test FME workflows (Readers, Transformers, Writers) • Support data migration from legacy GIS systems • Work closely with SMEs and technical teams to validate integrations • Assist with ArcGIS data analysis and Utility Network configuration Requirements • Strong hands-on experience with FME (essential) • Experience working with ArcGIS (Desktop Pro preferred) • Background in utilities / infrastructure (ideally DNO) • Proven experience in data integration, ETL, and system interfaces • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills Details • Contract: 5 months (initial, extension likely) • Location: North West (hybrid – 2–3 days onsite) • IR35: Outside • Start: ASAP
