Senior Data Engineer | London | Hybrid We're working with a leading global financial institution in the heart of the City on this exciting opportunity. Drive the evolution of a major financial data platform by leading a critical greenfield migration. You will architect and build high-performance pipelines moving complex financial data from legacy on-prem systems to a modern Snowflake environment using Python, Airflow, and dbt. The Role • Lead a high-impact greenfield project migrating mission-critical data from on-premise infrastructure to Snowflake. • Design, develop, and automate robust ELT/ETL pipelines using Python and SQL to ensure data integrity and performance. • Orchestrate complex data workflows using Airflow and manage data transformations via dbt. • Build and maintain sophisticated CI/CD pipelines within GitHub to ensure seamless, automated software delivery. • Collaborate with financial subject matter experts to model complex datasets across post-trade, OTC, and swaps asset classes. What You'll Need • Proven expertise in Data Engineering with a deep mastery of Python and advanced SQL for data manipulation. • Direct, hands-on experience executing on-premise to Snowflake migrations within a high-stakes environment. • Extensive technical proficiency with modern data stack tools, specifically dbt (data build tool) and Apache Airflow. • Experience managing automated deployment cycles and version control using GitHub and CI/CD best practices. • Strong domain knowledge in the financial sector, particularly with Post-Trade operations, OTC derivatives, or Swaps.
