Conversion to Perm: Yes (Potential Convert to Perm)Job OverviewThe Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain SQL Server-based database solutions supporting enterprise banking applications and data integration needs. This role focuses on T-SQL development, SSIS/ETL processes, performance optimization, and data integrity within a large, regulated financial services environment.The position partners closely with application development teams to support integrations, troubleshoot issues, and uphold database best practices.Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases to support business applications
β’ Write, optimize, and maintain T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions
β’ Develop and support ETL and data integration workflows using SSIS
β’ Monitor and improve database performance, reliability, and scalability
β’ Ensure data integrity, security, backups, and recovery processes
β’ Support application integrations and troubleshoot database-related issues
β’ Document database structures, standards, and operational processes
β’ Participate in code reviews and contribute to database best practices
Required Skills & QualificationsRequired
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science or related field
β’ 4+ years of recent hands-on experience with SQL Server databases
β’ Strong proficiency in T-SQL scripting and advanced querying
β’ Experience developing ETL solutions using SSIS
β’ Solid understanding of database design, normalization, and relational data modeling
β’ Experience with SQL Server tools such as SSMS and Profiler
Preferred
β’ Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) and Informatica MDM
β’ Familiarity with SSRS and/or SSAS
β’ Exposure to cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL Database)
β’ Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
