Role description
Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Engineer II in New York, NY. Responsibilities: β€’ Data Engineer II will design and implement robust data pipelines using AWS, Python, and SQL to support business analytics and decision-making across multiple domains (e.g., sales, finance, operations) β€’ Ensure data integrity and performance of data processing and storage systems β€’ Optimize data flows and architecture within AWS to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability β€’ Develop and maintain scalable and efficient ETL processes and APIs for data interaction β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and address technical and design requirements β€’ As a Data Engineer II, you will maintain and enhance data models and databases to support diverse enterprise applications β€’ Monitor and troubleshoot operational or data issues in the data pipelines β€’ Continuously improve systems and processes by integrating new tools and technologies β€’ Document all data engineering procedures and solutions for future reference and compliance β€’ Support the data management team in daily operations and long-term projects Requirements β€’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; Equivalent practical experience is also considered β€’ Minimum of two years of experience in data engineering or a related field β€’ Experience with Python for scripting and data manipulation β€’ Advanced SQL knowledge for complex querying and database interaction β€’ Knowledge of data modeling and database design β€’ Expertise in AWS services such as S3, EC2, RDS, Redshift, and AWS Glue β€’ Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) and data integration techniques β€’ Understanding of data warehousing solutions and ETL processes β€’ Strong proficiency in building and maintaining data pipelines in AWS environments β€’ Proficiency in Python, with a solid understanding of libraries and frameworks for data engineering (e.g., Pandas, PySpark) β€’ Strong command of SQL for creating, managing, and optimizing data structures and complex queries β€’ Good grasp of Agile methodologies and project management practices β€’ Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective data warehousing and analytics solutions in cloud environments β€’ Ability to write clean, maintainable code, adhering to best practices in code quality and security β€’ Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data operations in an AWS environment is a plus The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
