Role description
Responsibilities
A client with Kforce is seeking a Data Engineer II to join their team in Mountain View, CA. Duties:
β’ Using database tools (e.g., SQL, Python), query and analyze complex and large transaction and customer datasets and develop insights to build anti-money laundering (AML) transaction monitoring (TM), customer risk rating (CRR), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and Know Your Customer (KYC) controls to provide support for client's BSA/AML program
β’ Perform in-depth data and statistical analysis (e.g., percentile, outlier analysis, segmentation) on large volumes of transaction and customer profile data to identify potential risks and create and tune AML monitoring rules
β’ Create and execute alert generation scripts by creating new or modifying existing Python code to query new product datasets and using APIs to create alerts in a case management system, effectively scaling the automation pipeline across different products
β’ Build, maintain, and validate automated AML dashboards by defining metrics, building KPIs
β’ Collaborate with cross functional global partners to ensure solutions are scalable, repeatable, effective, and meet stakeholder expectations
β’ Interact directly with third party vendors to ensure continued efficacy and assess opportunities for improvement
β’ Draft documents such as business requirements, functional requirements, design, and other technical manuals for the BSA/AML program
β’ Interact with relevant teams to raise awareness of BSA/AML trends, emerging issues, remedial actions or enhancements to the program
β’ Adhere to client's BSA/AML policies and relevant procedures
β’ Assist with and support BSA/AML program reviews, exams and audits
Requirements
β’ Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field
β’ Strong business acumen with 4+ years of relevant work experience in related fields/positions
β’ Experience with one or more of the following tools/areas: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Python, AWS, Tableau, Qlik, and knowledge of data engineering tools such as workflow schedulers (e.g., Airflow) or version control (e.g., Git)
β’ Experience in compliance, technology or other control-related functions in a financial service or fintech firm
β’ Proven experience with performing statistical analysis, model development and calibration (e.g., percentile analysis, outlier analysis), testing, and documenting results using large datasets
β’ Strong knowledge and experience with BSA/AML regulations, monitoring, and functions such as TM, CRR, KYC, and CIP
β’ Expert-level proficiency in SQL for complex and large datasets processing, querying, and analysis
β’ Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive and work independently with minimum direction
β’ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with regional and global partners in other functional units with ability to navigate a complex organization
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication, project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects and priorities at one time
β’ Demonstrated ability to thrive in a highly dynamic environment, exercising ownership and entrepreneurial spirit is preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
