Role description
Responsibilities Kforce has an enterprise client seeking a Data Engineer II in Seattle, WA. Summary: Are you passionate about using data and AI to drive environmental innovation at global scale? We're looking for a Machine Learning Data Engineer to join AI for Sustainability team, part of the Worldwide Sustainability Science & Innovation (SSI). In this role, you will build and optimize the data pipelines that power next-generation AI models tackling some of the world's most pressing sustainability challenges in human rights and environmental due diligence across our supplier base. Daily Responsibilities: β€’ Design and maintain scalable, automated data pipelines for diverse data types (text, imagery, logs, geospatial, sensor data, and more) β€’ Transform, clean, and enrich data for machine learning and AI model training β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and align them with business and scientific goals β€’ Improve data quality, observability, and lineage tracking across sustainability data assets β€’ Optimize performance and scalability using AWS-native technologies such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, and Athena β€’ Support ML workflows by enabling reproducible data ingestion, transformation, and feature engineering Requirements β€’ 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or Machine Learning Data Engineer β€’ High-level understanding of common ML/AI techniques β€’ Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and automation β€’ Experience with data pipeline frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Spark, or AWS Glue), PySpark, Pandas, and data modeling for ML workflows β€’ Knowledge of data quality, observability, and governance frameworks β€’ Strong working knowledge of AWS services or other cloud services providers for data processing and analytics β€’ High-level understanding of common ML/AI techniques β€’ Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and automation β€’ Experience with data pipeline frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Spark, or AWS Glue), PySpark, Pandas, and data modeling for ML workflows The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
