Role description
Peak Performers has partnered with an American travel technology company to assist in their search for a Data Engineer III. In this contract position (No C2C), you will develop various facets of data capture, data processing, storage and distribution to support the Travel Partnerships and Media team.
Major duties
β’ Develop various facets of data capture, data processing, storage and distribution
β’ Understand and apply AWS standard methodologies and products (compute, storage, databases)
β’ Translate marketing concepts/requirements into functional specifications
β’ Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
β’ Propose new ways of doing things and contribute to the system architecture
β’ Manage ETL data to and from company entities to third party solutions
β’ Create and maintain functional utilities (SPAs) that provide point solutions to scale our marketing operations
β’ Develop scalable and highly-performant distributed systems with everything this entails (availability, monitoring, resiliency)
β’ Communicate and document solutions and design decisions
β’ Work with business collaborators, analytics, and senior leadership to define and scope solutions that the marketing team can leverage to efficiently scale out our marketing operations
What are we looking for?
β’ Bachelorβs degree; or equivalent related professional experience
β’ 8+ years of development experience, particularly in using marketing acquisition technologies to deliver automation of multiple channels and drive operational efficiencies
β’ 4+ yearsβ experience with PHP, Python or Java stack
β’ Experience building data pipelines from multiple sources including APIs, CSV, event streams, NoSQL, etc. using distributed data frameworks
β’ Experience with different aspects of data systems including database design, data modelling, performance optimization, SQL etc
β’ Demonstrable history creating on and leveraging AWS
β’ Experience in batch and/or stream processing (using Spark) and streaming systems/queues such as Kafka or SQS
β’ Daily practice of agile methods including use of sprints, backlog, user stories
β’ AWS: EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Cassandra, SQL
β’ Hadoop, Hive, HDFS, Spark, other big data technologies
β’ Understand, Analyze, design, develop, as well as implement RESTful services and APIs
About This Position
β’ Rate: $95.00-$96.72/hr
β’ Days / Hours: M-F 8am-5:00pm
β’ Contract length: 12 months
