Position: Data Engineer III Location: Cupertino, California Duration: Contract Job ID: 169835 Job Overview: The Data Engineer III will collaborate closely with the Foundation Model team and Intelligence product teams to develop frontend applications that provide insights into complex user experiences. This role involves guiding best practices for the visual presentation of information and the information architecture of data products. The candidate will also perform exploratory analyses to enhance understanding of LLM capabilities and identify new areas of exploration. This position is ideal for individuals with a proven track record in building frontend products and fostering relationships to influence decisions. Responsibilities: • Develop frontend applications to analyze and understand complex user experiences. • Guide best practices for visual presentation and information architecture of data products. • Perform exploratory analyses to enrich understanding of LLM capabilities and identify new questions to pursue. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to impact future iterations of Foundation Models and Intelligence product features. • Showcase advanced capabilities of Foundation Models through app development. Qualifications: • Experience building frontend applications using React and other UI frameworks. • Expertise in modern JavaScript and data visualization libraries (e.g., D3, VisX, Vega). • Familiarity with API development using web frameworks (e.g., Express). • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha). • Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Python). • Comfortable working in a team environment with tools like git, documentation, and testing. • Self-motivated and curious with strong creative and critical thinking skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Familiarity with LLM applications, especially agentic workflows. • Strong judgment in balancing art and science for visually communicating information. • High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to navigate through challenges. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience influencing decisions through information.
