Position Description: We're growing rapidly and are looking for a Data Engineer responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translating them into actionable requirements. Role Description: The role centers on engineering, operating, and improving real‑time market‑data and trading‑workflow platforms that support global derivatives trading. It requires deep industry experience, strong technical capability, and the ability to operate in mission‑critical production environments. The engineer works as part of a small, high‑performing global team responsible for ensuring stability, resilience, and continuous improvement across trading systems, market‑data distribution, and time‑series analytics. This role is based out of Houston and is three days onsite(Hybrid role) Core Expectations: • Own the reliability and performance of end‑to‑end derivatives‑trading workflows, driving proactive improvements across infrastructure and application layers • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues spanning development teams, support groups, and technical business users • Act as a subject‑matter expert for trading‑system initiatives, market‑data platforms, and exchange‑connectivity workflows • Support scalable algorithmic‑trading environments with a strong focus on compliance, auditability, and regulatory requirements • Participate in a global on‑call rotation, ensuring uninterrupted trading operations across time zones Required Industry Expertise: • Deep understanding of major global futures exchanges and the full exchange‑traded derivatives lifecycle • Minimum 8 years in commodity trading, capital markets, or investment‑bank environments • Strong knowledge of market‑data providers and liquidity‑aggregation platforms • Extensive experience with real‑time market‑data distribution platforms, feed handlers, and enterprise consolidated feeds • Long‑term experience with time‑series analytics frameworks such as kdb or shakti Technical and Operational Skills: • Proven ability to deploy, operate, and improve production trading systems • 10+ years supporting front‑office applications and managing vendor relationships • Rapid incident‑response capability with a focus on turning tactical fixes into durable solutions • Strong monitoring, troubleshooting, and reliability‑engineering mindset • Understanding of order capture, execution, allocation, settlement, and compliance workflows • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with complex data sets • Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, C#, SQL, or similar languages • 8+ years of FIX engineering experience, including exchange and vendor certification • Familiarity with EMS/OMS platforms such as TT, NYFIX, Bloomberg, TradingScreen • Experience with messaging systems and debugging TCP, multicast, and related network protocols • Operational experience with RTDS components (DACS, ADH, ADS) and multicast data‑traffic management Employment Practices: EEO, ADA, FMLA Compliant VLink is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated.
