Role description
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer / Data Analytics Lead to design, develop, and implement data-driven solutions that power business insights and strategic decision-making. In this role, you will support Marketplace Coverage Correction Factors (MCCF) product β a data science platform that estimates total marketplace sales where direct retailer POS data is unavailable. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape global data ecosystem and drive smarter, faster business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Architecture & Engineering
β’ Design, build, and optimize data pipelines to consolidate and transform large-scale structured and unstructured data.
β’ Develop automated processes and algorithms for high-volume data integration and evaluation.
β’ Build scalable data products to deliver actionable insights across analytics and product teams.
Analytics & Insights
β’ Partner with cross-functional teams to define analytical requirements and translate complex data into clear insights.
β’ Develop and optimize SQL queries, dashboards, and data visualizations for reporting and analysis.
β’ Apply data mining, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling to uncover key business trends.
Governance & Quality
β’ Maintain data governance standards, documentation, and data dictionaries.
β’ Monitor data quality, detect anomalies, and resolve inconsistencies.
β’ Implement best practices for data validation, unit testing, and integration testing.
Process Optimization & Innovation
β’ Automate and enhance existing workflows using modern data engineering tools and frameworks.
β’ Evaluate emerging technologies for scalable, high-performance data processing.
β’ Drive innovation by building advanced analytics solutions that enhance decision-making.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
β’ 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or large-scale data systems.
β’ Expert-level proficiency in SQL β advanced query optimization and validation.
β’ Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and analytics workflows.
β’ Hands-on experience with Apache Spark for distributed data processing.
β’ Strong working knowledge of AWS (data architecture, deployment, and integration).
β’ Experience with Databricks for managing end-to-end analytics pipelines.
β’ Proven ability to manage large, complex data environments with accuracy and scalability.
β’ Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
β’ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Preferred Skills:
β’ Experience in data governance frameworks and KPI tracking.
β’ Exposure to machine learning or predictive analytics.
β’ Prior experience in retail, e-commerce, or global enterprise data systems.
