Specifically:
β’ Candidates who list experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) should demonstrate a working knowledge of the core functionality.
β’ Candidates who claim proficiency in technical languages (e.g., SQL, SAS, Python) should be prescreened at a basic technical level aligned to the job requirements.
β’ Suppliers are expected to use their own internal screening methods (technical questions, assessments, or testing) to validate these skills before submitting candidates.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Seeking a Data Engineer, Business Intelligence to join its Retail Business Intelligence team to strengthen the BI capabilities of Retail. The position requires 4+ years of data management, modelling, and BI experience. The successful candidate will possess a strong data modeling, data visualization background and will provide expertise and best data engineering practices. The candidate should have a demonstrable record of being able to interact effectively with business stakeholders in all functional areas to gather and understand business requirements and reporting needs. Ability to learn new technologies, welcome challenges, accept new responsibilities, work well as individual and as a team and adapt quickly is essential.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
β’ Gather large and complex data sets to meet business requirements.
β’ Re-designing data marts for scalability and optimization.
β’ Ensure data architecture supports existing and future requirements of evolving business model
β’ Identify, design, and implement process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
β’ Create and maintain documentation for each step in the data lifecycle
β’ Develop and maintain operational dashboard and executive-level reporting using tools like Tableau, or Power BI
β’ Interact with functional business units to analyze, gather, and prioritize business and reporting requirements
β’ Partner with the Enterprise Data and Analytics leaders and teams to manage the key data processes, tools, and architectures needed to deliver confidence in regular reports.
β’ Collaborate with Enterprise Data and Analytics team to implement data management, data quality best practices and standards
β’ Partner with business leaders to develop, monitor, and report on marketing tests for new or enhanced products and campaigns
β’ Provide ad hoc report for Retail organization for experiments in market.
β’ Hands on development of data models in Oracle, AWS and data visualizations.
β’ Formulate and provide status updates on project plans and schedules to meet goals/objectives
Working Conditions:
β’ Hybrid work: Working 3-4 days a week in the office.
β’ Some overtime may be required as special projects arise or daily operations dictate
Minimum Requirements:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline/experience with 4+ years of experience or masterβs degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline/experience with 3+ years
β’ Hands on experience in one of programming languages like SAS/R/Python is a must.
β’ 4+ years of professional experience in business intelligence and data analysis
β’ 3+ years of SQL experience.
β’ 3+ years of programming experience.
β’ Experience with dimensional modeling and improving data reliability and data quality.
β’ Good understanding of cloud technologies with 1+ years hands on experience in AWS and big data distributed ecosystems.
β’ 2+ yearβs hands on experience in databricks and Google Cloud Platform
β’ 2+ yearβs experience with any one of visualization tools like Tableau/Power BI.
β’ Good understanding of relational and non-relational databases
β’ Experience working with large datasets.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Gas or power industry experience with knowledge of the retail electricity market.
β’ Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
β’ A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
β’ Strong organizational skills and comfort interacting with different lines of business, IT, and senior management
β’ Comfortable with ambiguity; ability to work with incomplete data or open-ended questions, and translate into actionable items
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
β’ Ability to manage multiple priorities while committed to deadlines and work overtime when required
β’ Proficient in effectively communicating to a wide range of audiences, both written and oral
β’ Self-starter with strong work ethic
