Data Engineer (Azure) | 6-month Contract
Hybrid – Minneapolis–Saint Paul (South Metro)
1–2 in‑office days per week (Tuesday/Thursday)
U.S. work authorization required (no sponsorship)
This is a great opportunity to support ongoing data engineering initiatives, work across modern Azure tools, and collaborate closely with an external engineering partner to drive high‑quality, scalable data solutions.
What You’ll Do
• Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure, Databricks, PySpark, and SQL
• Develop data transformations, orchestration, and integration patterns
• Serve as a liaison between internal teams and an external engineering vendor
• Troubleshoot and monitor Azure Data Factory pipelines
• Work with Azure SQL Database or SQL Server
• Contribute to data architecture, documentation, and process improvement
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders
• Support both project‑based work and ongoing internal data needs
• Use additional Microsoft cloud tools across the data ecosystem
What You Bring
• Experience in Azure data engineering
• Strong SQL skills
• Proficiency with Databricks and PySpark
• Experience with Azure Data Factory
• Experience with Azure SQL Database or SQL Server
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
Preferred Experience
• Experience working with external vendors or partner engineering teams
• Familiarity with Microsoft cloud tools across the data stack
• Background in consulting or fast‑paced project environments
• Knowledge of cloud‑based data engineering best practices
