Role description
Data Engineer – Metadata Management/Data Modelling 6 months contract Hybrid remote working – (occasional on-site workshops in either Telford or Sussex) SC Clearance required £465 p/d Inside IR35 An exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to support the delivery of Domain APIs by ensuring all API data structures, definitions, and attributes align with enterprise data standards, metadata policies and master data ownership across multiple core systems. Key skills: • Currently hold security clearance (SC) • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills • Understanding of data modelling principles • Basic proficiency in Python (used in conjunction with GenAI for modelling tasks) • Ability to work within governance frameworks and metadata standards • Any experience with Knowledge of ERD/UML modelling techniques, EDC/IDQ, OpenAPI/Swagger or Metadata/Catalogue tools would be beneficial Key Responsibilities • Identify and document data attributes, maintaining a metadata catalogue with clear definitions, ownership, relationships, and governance considerations. • Map API requirements to enterprise data standards, ensuring consistency in naming conventions, semantics, and domain classifications. • Validate data lineage, structures, and definitions across key systems of record. • Ensure API data (request/response) complies with controlled vocabularies, approved data sources, and enterprise governance policies.
