Data Engineer

Role: Data Engineer Duration: 12+months Location: Smithfield, RI (Hybrid) Must haves: • SQL for querying analysis • AWS will be built on cloud • Python for development (batch, APIs for real time data) • Strong in Snowflake Preferred to have: • cockroachDB (distibuted db) • API experience • Strong data modeling skills doing either Dimensional or Data Vault models Other notes: This is going to be a pretty senior person, looking at least for 10 years of experience. Description Data Engineer The client is looking for a highly motivated Data Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the operational and analytical capability in Client's data platforms. The data infrastructure is going through significant growth, and this is an opportunity to take leading role in shaping client's capability in this area. The work involves solution design, data analysis and production rollout project activities on data lakes using Snowflake, AWS, Python. The Expertise and Skills You Bring • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required with 10+ years of experience • Advanced SQL/ Snow SQL knowledge and experience working with snowflake database • Good experience in working with AWS (Batch, S3) • 1+ years of Python development • Hands-on experience on SQL query optimization and tuning to improve performance is desirable • Experience in job scheduling tools (Control M preferred) • Proven data analysis skills • Strong data modeling skills doing either Dimensional or Data Vault models • Good to have - Working experience with some or all of the following: AWS, Containerization, associated build and deployment CI/CD pipelines, Lambda development. • Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (Maven, Jenkins, Stash, Ansible, Docker) • Experience in Agile methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM) is a plus • Proven track record to handle ambiguity and work in fast paced environment • Good interpersonal skills to work with multiple teams in the organization The Value You Deliver • Passion and intellectually curiosity to learn new technologies and business areas • Exploring new technology products and using them to help our business needs • Working on teams to improve efficiency • Delivering system automation
