Job Title: Data Engineer – Enterprise Data Hub (Insurance Domain, AWS) Client: SiriusPoint (via Synechron) Location: New York – Hybrid Type: W2 Only About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to support the development and maintenance of the Enterprise Data Hub for SiriusPoint, a global reinsurance company. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in AWS cloud data services, insurance data models, and scalable data pipeline development. This role offers the chance to work with cross-functional teams, including data architects, enterprise architects, and infrastructure experts, to deliver data-driven insights that drive business decisions. You will be instrumental in ensuring high standards in data governance, integration, and compliance across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to work on modern cloud-native architecture and be part of a transformative data journey in the reinsurance space. Key Responsibilities β€’ Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data workflows for the Enterprise Data Hub. β€’ Implement end-to-end data solutions using AWS services: Glue, Redshift, S3, Athena, Lambda, EMR. β€’ Work with structured and unstructured insurance data (claims, policy, underwriting, billing). β€’ Collaborate with data architects and business stakeholders to define and meet data requirements. β€’ Partner with infrastructure and enterprise architects to align with deployment and change management best practices. β€’ Ensure data quality, lineage, security, and compliance (HIPAA, GDPR). β€’ Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency. β€’ Support metadata management and data cataloguing initiatives. β€’ Follow DevOps practices for version control and CI/CD processes. β€’ Contribute to continuous improvement in data architecture and governance processes. Required Skills & Qualifications β€’ 10+ years of experience in data engineering roles, with strong exposure to insurance/reinsurance domain. β€’ Expertise in AWS data services: Glue, Redshift, S3, Athena, Lambda, EMR. β€’ Strong hands-on skills in SQL, Python, and data modeling. β€’ Experience with ETL tools/frameworks and data pipeline orchestration. β€’ Solid understanding of insurance data domains (e.g., claims, policy, billing). β€’ Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and compliance standards. β€’ Proficient in Git, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins). β€’ Exposure to BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or QuickSight is a plus. β€’ Knowledge of data lakes/lakehouse architectures is a strong advantage. β€’ AWS certification (Solutions Architect/Data Analytics) is preferred but not required. β€’ Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field. β€’ Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. β€’ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
