Role description
Contract Data Engineer | Outside IR35 | Fully Remote
Rate: Competitive (Outside IR35): £350 - £400 per day
Location: Fully Remote (must be UK based)
Contract: Initial 3 Months (Strong potential for extension)
We're supporting an exciting technology business as they look to bring in an experienced Data Engineer to join a fast-paced client delivery programme.
This isn't a role where you'll simply sit writing SQL all day. You'll be working across multiple projects, partnering directly with stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and helping drive delivery from end to end.
If you enjoy variety, ownership, and solving data challenges whilst working closely with people, this could be a great fit.
What you'll be doing
• Designing and delivering data solutions across multiple client projects
• Working directly with stakeholders to understand requirements and manage expectations
• Writing efficient SQL and Python to query, transform and investigate data
• Creating database views and supporting data analysis and debugging
• Integrating data from APIs and webhooks where required
• Working with modern cloud data platforms including Snowflake and AWS
• Collaborating across technical and non-technical teams to keep projects moving at pace
What we're looking for
• Strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer
• Excellent SQL and Python skills
• Confident working directly with stakeholders and managing multiple priorities
• Experience investigating data issues and supporting business users
• Comfortable taking ownership and working autonomously
• Experience with Snowflake (preferred)Exposure to AWS (RDS), APIs or webhooks would be advantageous
• Experience with DBT, Terraform or container technologies is beneficial but not essential
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with the flexibility to work within existing tooling and processes
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, fast-moving team where communication and ownership are valued just as highly as technical ability. You'll have genuine autonomy, work on varied client projects, and play a key role in delivering meaningful outcomes from day one.
If you're available within the next few weeks and looking for your next Outside IR35 contract, we'd love to hear from you.
