Data Engineer (Only W2 Candidates)

Job Title: Data Engineer Location: Beaverton, OR, United States, Working Hours - 9:00 AM TO 5:00 PM (Regular Hours) -PST to Friday, 9am to 5pm Skills: Data Engg, AWS, Data Bricks, Spark, Python Summary Data Engineer - Lead New Title; Establishes database management systems, standards, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy. Documents and communicates database design. Evaluates and installs database management systems. Codes complex programs and derives logical processes on technical platforms. Builds windows, screens and reports. Assists in the design of user interface and business application prototypes. Participates in quality assurance and develops test application code in client server environment. Provides expertise in devising, negotiating and defending the tables and fields provided in the database. Adapts business requirements, developed by modeling/development staff and systems engineers, and develops the data, database specifications, and table and element attributes for an application. At more experienced levels, helps to develop an understanding of client's original data and storage mechanisms. Determines appropriateness of data for storage and optimum storage organization. Determines how tables relate to each other and how fields interact within the tables for a relational model. Requirements ● On-site role at WHQ; 8 am - 5 pm; HM prefers 5 days on-site ○ HM is flexible for a remote candidate if they have the correct experience (will support PST hours if not on-site) ● Bachelor’s degree requested for this role ● No preferred industry experience specified ● Minimum 8 years’ experience in data engineering ● Top skills include Python, SQL, data engineering ● Main focus of the role will be building data pipelines, data modeling, and data analysis ● Candidate will work on a team with ~15 others ● Tech stack that candidates will be working with: Data Bricks, Python, AirFlow, AWS, EMR, SQL ● Experience using cloud services to build an integrated application in production (AWS - EC2, ECS, API gateway, Lambda) ● Experience with implementing CI/CD and DevOps responsibilities of deploying and supporting the software in production ● Interviews will consist of 2 coding rounds, 1 hour each ● HM does not want to see a lot of resumes for this req, so I will likely put it on hold after a brief amount of time Responsibilities Typically requires a Bachelors Degree and minimum of 8 or 9 years directly relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 6 yrs; Masters + 7 yrs; Associates degree + 9 yrs; High School + 10 yrs.
