Role description
This is an Onsite position.
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer / Palantir Foundry Specialist to join our growing data team. This role requires deep hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including its pipeline development, ontology modeling, transformation logic (Code Workbook, Code Repository, Object Explorer), and integration with streaming data platforms like Apache Kafka. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of data engineering, real-time processing, and predictive analytics.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience working with Palantir Foundry, including Code Workbooks and Ontology modeling.
Solid experience with Apache Kafka, including consuming, processing, and transforming streaming data.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark within data transformation and pipeline development.
Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data governance principles.
Hands-on experience with Foundry Ontology tools such as Object Explorer, Ontology Workbooks, and Action Framework.
Experience implementing alerts, rules, and business logic using Ontology-backed configurations.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and DevOps workflows within Foundry.
Experience in building predictive analytics models, or collaborating with data scientists to deploy models in production.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have:
Exposure to Foundry's Operational Ontology Layer or Action Graph
Experience with Foundry’s Security & Permissions modeling (Access Control Models).
Background in real-time analytics or streaming applications.
Knowledge of Palantir Apollo (for deployment orchestration) is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines in Palantir Foundry using Code Workbooks, Code Repositories, and Visual Pipelines.
Integrate Kafka-based streaming events into the Foundry platform for real-time data ingestion and processing.
Develop ontologies in Foundry to define business entities and relationships, enabling semantic enrichment of datasets.
Implement data transformations using Spark (PySpark, Scala), SQL, or Foundry-native tools.
Design and configure rules and alerts using Ontology-backed rules engines in Foundry.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data science, operations, product) to develop predictive models and actionable analytics.
Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance and reliability.
Ensure data governance, quality, and security standards are met in all workflows.
Write and maintain technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing.
