Role description
Duration - 6 months Contract to hire Location - 100% remote - EST hours Rate - 50-60/hour W2 / conversion salary of upto 120k base GC/USC only Data Engineer Are you passionate about transforming raw data into impactful insights? We’re seeking a talented Data Engineer to be a vital part of our dynamic team, developing scalable, reliable, and automated ETL/ELT solutions that power our organization’s data-driven decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge data ecosystems, contributing to impactful projects on a fully remote basis. Required Skills and Qualifications: β€’ Proven expertise in designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes (preferably using IBM DataStage, SQL, SAS, Python, or transitioning to Python, DBT, SQL, Power BI). β€’ Solid experience with CI/CD practices; version control with GitHub. β€’ Proficiency with Visual Studio Code for development and debugging workflows. β€’ Hands-on experience working with Snowflake for scalable data warehousing. β€’ Ability to translate business requirements into data models, including star and snowflake schemas. β€’ Experience in developing BI dashboards (IBM Cognos and Power BI preferred). β€’ Strong mentoring skills for guiding team members. β€’ Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. β€’ Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously. β€’ Prior experience supporting reporting applications and troubleshooting technical issues. Nice to Have: β€’ Experience with property and casualty insurance. β€’ Familiarity with data quality scorecards and data lineage. β€’ Experience working within agile teams. #TECH
