Role description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures that support our data-driven decision-making processes. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the availability and integrity of data across various platforms. Duties Design and implement robust data pipelines using ETL processes to facilitate data integration from multiple sources. Develop and maintain data models, ensuring optimal database design for performance and scalability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Utilize big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Apache Hive to process large datasets efficiently. Implement data storage solutions using AWS, Azure Data Lake, or similar cloud platforms. Perform data analysis and model training to support business intelligence initiatives. Create and manage RESTful APIs for seamless data access across applications. Ensure data quality by implementing validation checks and monitoring systems. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to data engineering. Skills Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and SQL for database management and scripting tasks. Experience with big data frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, and tools like Informatica or Talend for ETL processes. Familiarity with cloud services including AWS or Azure Data Lake for scalable storage solutions. Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle databases, and data warehouse concepts. Understanding of analytics tools such as Looker for visualizing complex datasets. Ability to work in Agile environments with experience in collaborative project management methodologies. Excellent analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving and critical thinking. Knowledge of linked data principles, shell scripting (Bash), VBA, and database design best practices is a plus.
