Azure Data Engineer – Contract (Office-Based, Warwick) 📍 Location: Warwick, UK (Office-Based) 💷 Rate: £350 per day (Inside IR35) 📅 Duration: 6-Month Rolling Contract About the Opportunity Our client, a top global organization, is seeking a talented and experienced Azure Data Engineer to join a fast-paced data and analytics team on a long-term contract assignment. This role will focus on building and optimizing scalable data solutions within the Azure ecosystem, enabling business-critical insights and decision-making across multiple data domains. You’ll work on data integration, transformation, and pipeline development using modern Azure data tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, Snowflake, and Python — supporting advanced analytics and reporting capabilities. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain Azure-based data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory (ADF). • Work with large, complex datasets to ensure data quality, reliability, and performance. • Integrate data from multiple sources into Snowflake and Azure data platforms. • Develop and optimize data workflows and transformations in Databricks. • Use Python for automation, data wrangling, and pipeline orchestration. • Debug and troubleshoot data issues, ensuring smooth and reliable data flow. • Collaborate closely with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions. • Ensure all solutions adhere to data governance, security, and compliance best practices. Essential Skills & Experience: • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, ideally within the Azure ecosystem. • Expert-level proficiency with Azure Data Factory (ADF). • Strong knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, and Python for data transformation and automation. • Solid understanding of SQL for querying, performance tuning, and optimization. • Experience debugging and resolving data pipeline or transformation issues. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams. Desirable: • 6–8 years of experience in data engineering or related data-driven roles. • Exposure to data modelling, cloud security, or advanced analytics environments.
