Role Overview
Weβre looking for a Senior Data Engineer with deep database expertise to design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure. Youβll lead projects that improve data quality, performance, and accessibility across our cloud environment, while mentoring junior engineers and shaping our data strategy.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design and manage data pipelines, lakes, and warehouses across AWS (S3, Lake Formation, RDS, Lambda, Step Functions).
β’ Administer and optimize relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design, performance tuning, and monitoring.
β’ Implement ETL/ELT processes to ensure reliable and high-quality data flow.
β’ Oversee backups, replication, migrations, and disaster recovery planning.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture, data governance, and security.
β’ Document systems, processes, and standards for maintainability.
β’ Mentor engineers and contribute to technical planning, reviews, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
β’ 7+ years of data engineering experience with a strong database focus.
β’ Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala plus advanced SQL.
β’ Hands-on experience with AWS data services and database administration (RDS multi-AZ, replicas, automated backups).
β’ Strong knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and tuning for high-volume systems.
β’ Familiarity with distributed data tools (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
β’ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ AWS certifications (Database, Security, SysOps, or ML).
β’ Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Terraform, or vendor-specific DBMS certifications.
β’ Background in data governance, compliance, or regulated environments.
