A key expectation for this role is strong, hands-on Python development, used extensively for data transformation, pipeline development, and integration across the Azure ecosystem.
The foundational Azure infrastructure has been established. The current phase is focused on retooling existing assets, connecting legacy objects, and delivering production-ready, Python-driven data pipelines within a modern Azure environment.
Essential Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Lead Data Engineer to execute the migration of on-prem SQL Server environments to Azure
• Design, develop, and deploy scalable Python-based data pipelines and integration solutions
• Build and optimize Python-driven data transformation logic across large, complex datasets
• Implement solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric and Azure-native services
• Work across Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Data Factory, and Synapse environments
• Refactor and support existing SSIS packages, translating legacy logic into modern Python-based frameworks where appropriate
• Migrate and validate legacy data objects, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization
• Write efficient, production-grade code in Python and SQL, with a strong emphasis on Python for pipeline orchestration and transformation
• Support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Contribute to data architecture, standards, and best practices
• Participate in a hybrid work model with onsite collaboration
Technical Environment
Preferred Platform
• Microsoft Fabric
Core Technologies
• Azure Data Lake
• Azure Synapse Analytics

• Strong hands-on Python development experience is required (not just exposure)
• Demonstrated experience building and optimizing Python-based data pipelines and transformations
• Strong SQL skills, with the ability to work across complex data models
• Experience with Azure data services and cloud migration initiatives
• Experience modernizing legacy SSIS workflows into scalable, code-driven solutions
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
