Data Engineer | Contract | Hybrid | Stevenage 6-12 month contract | Hybrid working | Excellent day rate Greenfield opportunity for a hands-on Data Engineer to build and scale QA/testing capability across complex ETL pipelines in a modern data environment. You’ll own the automation strategy, improve data reliability, and work closely with engineering teams delivering business-critical reporting and API outputs. What you’ll be doing • Building scalable ETL/data validation frameworks using Python & Pytest • Writing advanced SQL checks for reconciliation, integrity & transformation testing • Validating Excel/XML outputs using Pandas, OpenPyXL, lxml & xmlschema • Automating API testing with Postman & Newman • Integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions • Working within Databricks and modern cloud-based data environments • Driving QA standards, mentoring others & improving engineering quality What’s needed • Strong ETL / ELT testing experience • Advanced SQL & Python automation skills • Experience across APIs, XML, Excel & data quality validation • CI/CD knowledge with GitHub Actions • Exposure to Databricks or similar data platforms For more information and direct contact with me, please send me an email and call only if required.
