Role: Data Engineer – Financial Services (Contract) Rate: £425/day Inside IR35 Location: London (Hybrid) Duration: 6-Month Rolling Contract (Long-Term Opportunity) Are you a data engineer with a strong background in financial services, asset management, or reinsurance? We’re hiring for a hands-on role where you’ll work directly with critical financial data, delivering insights that drive strategic decisions. About the Role You’ll be embedded within a high-performing team supporting senior business experts in the financial domain. This is a hands-on data engineering position focused on solving complex data challenges beyond the limitations of Excel. You’ll be working with Python, SQL, and GCP (BigQuery) to manipulate large datasets and deliver actionable insights. Key Responsibilities • Perform advanced data manipulation and analysis to support stakeholders. • Use Python (Pandas, NumPy) to automate and streamline analytical workflows. • Design and execute robust data mapping and transformation pipelines. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions. Ideal Candidate Profile Domain Expertise: Experience in asset management, investments, or reinsurance within the last 2 years. Technical Skills: • Python: Strong experience with data libraries (Pandas, NumPy). • SQL: Proficient in querying and manipulating data. • GCP / BigQuery: Experience building on Google Cloud Platform. • Education: Degree in investments, accounting, or actuarial science. Nice-to-Haves • Familiarity with dbt or Databricks. • Experience with life insurance or investment-related projects. Interview Process 1. Stage 1: 30-minute screening call. 1.
