About the Role
Weβre looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team and help productionalize AI/ML solutions, starting with the Sorting Hat initiativeβa classification model that routes escalated customer tickets to the right internal teams for faster resolution.
Youβll work closely with data scientists and software engineers to build scalable, reliable data pipelines that bring machine learning models into production. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of software engineering and big data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
β’ Collaborate with data scientists to take ML/LLM models from prototype to production.
β’ Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Spark (preferably PySpark).
β’ Develop infrastructure for model deployment on AWS.
β’ Implement CI/CD workflows using Git (GitLab experience a plus).
β’ Write unit and data quality tests to ensure pipeline reliability.
β’ Apply data modeling best practices to support analytics and ML use cases.
Qualifications
β’ 3+ years of experience in data engineering or backend software development.
β’ Strong experience with:
β’ Apache Spark (PySpark preferred)
β’ Python
β’ Git and version control workflows
β’ Cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
β’ Familiarity with:
β’ Scala or Java
β’ Functional programming concepts
β’ Test-driven development and writing unit/data quality tests
β’ Strong understanding of data modeling and pipeline orchestration.
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
