Role description
Hybrid Every other week onsite/5 days in Durham, NC
Our client seeks a Data Engineer to build and scale data solutions on AWS with Snowflake. The role focuses on data analysis, data modeling, and ETL development using Python and SQL to support an enterprise data lake and downstream data marts. You will collaborate in an Agile team to modernize onβpremises pipelines into cloud-native architectures and enable reliable customer data platforms.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $60.00 to $65.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities
β’ Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes for an enterprise data lake on AWS.
β’ Model data and develop data marts to support analytics and reporting use cases.
β’ Develop Python-based data applications and SQL transformations for Snowflake and relational databases.
β’ Collaborate within an Agile team to deliver scalable and maintainable data solutions.
β’ Contribute to business intelligence enablement and dashboarding support as needed.
β’ Apply DevOps and CI/CD practices to automate build, test, and deployment workflows.
Experience Requirements
β’ Extensive experience with relational databases such as Oracle or Snowflake.
β’ Proficiency in Python for data engineering and application development.
β’ Strong SQL skills for data transformation and analysis.
β’ Hands-on experience with AWS or other major cloud providers for data application development.
β’ Background in data warehousing, data modeling, and data mart creation.
β’ Experience with ETL technologies such as Informatica or SnapLogic.
β’ Experience with business intelligence and dashboards (preferred).
β’ Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Stash, Ansible, or Docker (preferred).
β’ Experience with Agile methodologies including Kanban or Scrum (preferred).
β’ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Education Requirements
β’ Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in a technology-related field such as Engineering or Computer Science.
β’ AWS certification (preferred).
β’ Azure certification (preferred).
β’ Google Cloud certification (preferred).
