Job#: 3032896 Job Description: Data Engineer Location: Greenwood Village, Colorado (On-site) Employment Type: Contract Role Overview We are seeking a senior-level Data Engineer for a long-term contract position. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows. This role involves splitting time between two key data science projects focusing on A/B testing platform development and fraud prevention initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows. • Optimize complex queries and data transformations for performance and cost efficiency. • Support data science projects related to internal experimentation, A/B testing platforms, and various fraud prevention initiatives. • Work with data processing frameworks such as Spark or PySpark. • Deliver work at a steady, predictable pace to achieve commitments and release complete solutions in small batches. • Identify and negotiate important technical tradeoffs. Required Qualifications Experience: • Senior-level experience as a Data Engineer. • Proven experience with Python and Scala programming languages. Candidates with strong Python and a willingness to learn Scala will be considered. • Proficiency with PySpark and/or Spark. • Strong understanding of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data processing frameworks like Databricks. • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and related services (e.g., AWS Lambda, S3, EC2, EventBridge, Athena). Preferred Qualifications • Proficiency with data orchestration tools like Airflow or AWS Step Functions. Compensation & Benefits For this position, the compensation is targeted between $65.00 and $80.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, experience, and skills.
