Role description
Data Engineer (Contract – 6 months) Location: London or Luxembourg
We’re seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team on an initial 6‑month contract, supporting the build and optimisation of modern data solutions across our organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and integrations
• Build and enhance APIs to support data ingestion and automation
• Work with AWS services (Lambda, Glue, or equivalent) to deliver cloud‑native solutions
• Implement anomaly detection and alerting using AI/ML techniques
• Ensure compliance with information security and data governance standards
Essential Skills
• Proven experience in data engineering, including API development and integration
• Strong SQL skills and experience with complex data querying
• Hands‑on experience with AWS (Lambda, Glue, or similar services)
• Experience building automated data pipelines
• Familiarity with AI/ML approaches for anomaly detection
• Understanding of information security and data governance
Desirable Skills
• Experience in utilities, energy, or sustainability data environments
• Exposure to large‑scale enterprise environments
• Knowledge of sub‑metering or smart metering data systems
