Role description
Finance Transformation Analyst
Reading. 6 month contract
We are supporting a large, complex organisation undergoing a significant finance transformation programme. This role will play a key part in supporting the migration and stabilisation of sales ledger and billing processes within a new financial system.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone with strong analytical capability, experience working with large datasets, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial data issues.
The Role
As a Finance Transformation Analyst, you will support the transition of sales ledger processes into a new system, ensuring data accuracy, process integrity, and reliable financial reporting during and after implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting sales ledger migration activities, including financial reconciliation and validation of large data sets within tight deadlines
• Using advanced Excel and Power BI to analyse data, validate outputs, and produce interim reporting during system stabilisation
• Performing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure the accuracy and integrity of sales ledger processes and reporting outputs
• Validating new financial reporting structures, ensuring alignment with the updated chart of accounts and system processes
• Identifying, investigating, and resolving financial data quality issues, escalating risks where appropriate
• Supporting ongoing improvements to financial processes during the transformation lifecycle
About You
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced transformation environment.
You will bring:
• Proven experience supporting sales ledger or billing system migrations
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down and solve complex problems
• Advanced capability in Excel and Power BI
• A persistent and curious mindset, with a focus on identifying root causes of issues
• The ability to challenge assumptions and validate data with a critical approach
• Experience working with large and complex financial datasets
Desirable Experience
• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of:
• Financial ledgers
• Financial controls
• Audit considerations within system transformations
• Experience working across Finance, Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Tax teams
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional environments
