Role description
Drishticon is a Silicon Valley-based IT consulting and technology solutions company specializing in enterprise ecommerce, cloud technologies, systems integration, digital transformation, and mission-critical business platforms. We partner with startups and Fortune 500 organizations to deliver innovative, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions through onsite and offshore delivery models. We are currently looking for a Data Engineer to support our client in Sunnyvale, CA for a long-term contract position. This is a Hybrid position, and the selected person will need to work on-site a couple days during the week. The pay target is: $65.00 an hour on W2 The Data Engineer to support the development and enhancement of a large-scale Retail and Marketing Technology platforms. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying enterprise-grade big data solutions that drive critical business initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong object-oriented programming experience, deep expertise in Hadoop ecosystem technologies, and a passion for building scalable data pipelines and distributed applications. โ€ข Responsibilities: โ€ข Design, develop, and implement scalable big data applications using Hadoop ecosystem technologies. โ€ข Collaborate with technical leads, architects, and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. โ€ข Develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions following established SDLC methodologies and coding standards. โ€ข Build and optimize data pipelines supporting large-scale marketing and analytics initiatives. โ€ข Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues through debugging, analysis, and root-cause investigation. โ€ข Participate in production deployments and provide post-deployment support. โ€ข Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, process flows, and troubleshooting guides. โ€ข Work closely with team members to identify dependencies and ensure successful project delivery. โ€ข Requirements: โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. โ€ข 5+ years of software development experience. โ€ข Strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) experience. โ€ข 3+ years of hands-on Java development experience. โ€ข 2+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting Big Data solutions using Hadoop ecosystem technologies including: Hive, Spark, Impala, HBase, Apache Drill โ€ข Experience with Teradata and other relational database technologies. โ€ข Strong database design and data modeling experience. โ€ข Preferred Qualifications: โ€ข Experience with Java, Scala, and Python development. โ€ข Experience building enterprise-scale data pipelines. โ€ข Experience in Azure Databricks. โ€ข Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and services. โ€ข Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). โ€ข Experience with MySQL.
