Primary Job Title: Data Engineer Location: Vienna, VA (Remote) Shift/Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, core business hours Date Posted: 7/15/25 Employment Type: Contract Job Summary: The Data Engineer will contribute to the development of a complex data model covering various aspects of bank customer information. The role requires independent identification and validation of data sources and designing and developing data pipelines to produce curated, high-quality data that supports analytical work for downstream users. Responsibilities: • Design and implement complex data models (e.g., star schema, slowly changing dimensions) • Work with structured and unstructured data across OLAP and OLTP systems • Develop and maintain medallion architecture for data processing • Build and manage ETL pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery • Conduct exploratory data analysis to validate and reconcile multiple data sources • Write clean, scalable code using SQL, Python, and PySpark • Leverage Azure and Databricks platforms for cloud data solutions • Use Tableau and Power BI for business intelligence and reporting • Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, analysts, and engineers Qualifications: Degree/Certifications Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field Years of Experience: • Minimum 10 years in data engineering or a related field Must-Have Skills: 1. Data Modeling - Proficiency in complex data structures, medallion architecture, OLAP vs. OLTP concepts 1. Data Engineering - Expertise in ETL pipeline development and data validation 1. Programming - Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, PySpark 1. Cloud Platforms - Azure and Databricks 1.
