Contract Data Engineers needed – Financial Services | Hybrid (London-Based) | AI/ML Team My Consultancy client are looking for Contract Data Engineers to join a high-performing AI/ML team within a leading consultancy, working with tier-one financial services clients. Location: Hybrid (2-3 days/week in central London) Contract: Initial 6 months (extensions likely) Sector: Financial Services Rate: Competitive (outside IR35, depending on experience) What they're looking for: My client are seeking experienced Data Engineers who thrive in client-facing, consultative roles and are confident working in complex, regulated environments. You’ll be building scalable, secure data pipelines and delivering value across cloud platforms and modern data ecosystems. Key Requirements: • Proven Financial Services experience – ideally banking, capital markets, or insurance. • Strong communication skills – able to engage directly with clients and senior stakeholders. • Cloud-native development – Azure, AWS, or GCP. • Expertise in data pipeline design and implementation using: • PySpark • Databricks • Snowflake • Experience working in data science, AI or machine learning environments is a big plus. • Understanding of data governance, quality, and security in financial contexts.
