Contract Assignment: Senior Data Engineer β Risk & Integrity (UK Remote)
Reference: BH 7207
Hourly Rate: Competitive β DOE - 40 hrs/week
Contract Type: Inside IR35
Duration: 12 months (with potential extension)
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Remote (must be UK-based)
Must be able to contract via PAYE
Responsibilities:
β’ Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and models to support analytics and product development.
β’ Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and data science teams across UK, US, and EMEA to improve risk and fraud detection systems.
β’ Drive end-to-end data projects related to financial products, risk analytics, and fraud prevention metrics.
β’ Optimize ETL processes for both structured and unstructured data across high-volume, real-time systems.
β’ Build data dashboards and visualizations for leadership tracking and performance monitoring.
β’ Contribute to data deprecation strategies and data governance compliance efforts.
β’ Participate in on-call rotations and provide operational support for critical data infrastructure.
Requirements:
β’ 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data science, or analytics roles with a strong technical focus.
β’ Advanced SQL and intermediate Python programming skills.
β’ Expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and performance optimization for large-scale data systems.
β’ Experience handling end-to-end project delivery with a strong product mindset.
β’ Previous exposure to financial, risk, integrity, or fraud prevention domains is highly desirable.
β’ Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau or similar internal dashboarding platforms.
β’ Ability to work independently while collaborating across global teams.
β’ Strong communication and storytelling skills using data.
Preferred Background:
β’ Experience working in or with companies handling large-scale transactional data (e.g., fintech, ad-tech, telecom).
β’ Familiarity with high-growth or startup environments, particularly involving financial products or security systems.
β’ Prior experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
Required Qualification(s):
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
