Infrastructure / Platform Engineer: Data Enablement
W2 Contract
Salary Range: $114,400 - $135,200 per year
Location: Cupertino, CA - Remote Role
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Infrastructure / Platform Engineer who can build and operate cloud systems that generate high-quality, consumable data for analytics and executive reporting. This role focuses on infrastructure and tooling, with enough data awareness to partner effectively with data engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design and maintain cloud and Kubernetes-based platforms
• Build tooling and services that expose infrastructure, cost, and usage data
• Implement and manage resource tagging, metadata standards, and telemetry
• Enable reliable data ingestion for analytics and reporting systems
• Automate data collection related to cloud cost, usage, and platform health
• Improve platform observability and data quality at the source
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Strong on-prem Kubernetes experience
• Hands-on Kubernetes and container orchestration experience
• Ability to code and build tools Go/GoLang
• Experience working with infrastructure-generated data (cost, metrics, metadata)
• Strong understanding of platform operations and cloud economics
• Conceptual understanding of data pipelines and ingestion patterns
• Ability to structure and expose data for downstream analytics
Preferred Qualifications:
• Exposure to FinOps or cloud cost management practices
• Experience collaborating closely with data engineering or analytics teams
