Role description
6 months Contract to Hire W2 only As a Data Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building and optimizing the data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools that fuel strategic decision-making. From Power BI to Office 365 to cloud data platforms, you'll be working hands-on with a modern tech stack to support our finance, clinical, HR, and operational teams. You'll design smart, scalable systems, collaborate across departments, and help shape the future of data —all while making a meaningful difference. What You’ll Do • Engineer Smart Data Pipelines: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows to move and transform data across systems. • Own Power BI Reporting: Build, enhance, and manage interactive dashboards and reports that bring clarity and insight to every corner of the organization. • Collaborate & Deliver: Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into reliable, high-impact data solutions. • Govern & Secure: Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all platforms—keeping compliance top of mind (think HIPAA, GDPR). • Leverage Office 365: Use tools like SharePoint, Teams, and Power Automate to streamline report distribution, collaboration, and workflows. • Administer Power BI Service: Manage datasets, gateways, and workspaces, ensuring uptime, performance, and ease of access for users. • Document & Empower: Create clear, user-friendly documentation to support adoption, training, and long-term scalability. What You Bring Required: • 3–5+ years in a Data Engineer, BI Developer, or related role • Power BI expertise (DAX, Power Query/M, Power BI Service) • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL, etc.) • Proficiency with Office 365 tools (SharePoint, Excel, Teams, Power Automate) • Experience in Windows-based environments (Windows Server, Windows 10/11) • Familiarity with data modeling (star schema, normalization, data warehousing concepts) • Attention to detail and a passion for clean, actionable data • Strong communicator who can translate tech into business value Preferred: • Exposure to Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, etc.) • Basic scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation • Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) • Understanding of data governance and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.) Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or equivalent hands-on experience.
