Role description
Piper Companies is seeking a Data Engineer to support a leading organization within the managed services and infrastructure operations sector for a fully remote 6‑month contract. The Data Engineer will focus on data pipelines, forecasting workflows, and visibility solutions that guide hardware lifecycle and resource planning.
Responsibilities of the Data Engineer include:
• Design and maintain SQL- and Python‑driven data pipelines supporting forecasting and capacity projections.
• Create data models that underpin long‑term infrastructure planning and utilization insights.
• Build dashboards and observability tools in Kibana for enhanced operational transparency.
• Integrate multiple data sources to improve accuracy in system trend analysis and projections.
• Partner with developers and operational teams to improve data reliability and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications for the Data Engineer include:
• Approximately 4 years of experience in data engineering or a related technical role.
• Strong proficiency with SQL and Python as core toolsets.
• Prior exposure to Kibana for analytics, dashboards, or log exploration.
• Background supporting forecasting, capacity insights, or infrastructure‑driven workloads.
• Ability to contribute to remote, collaborative engineering environments.
Compensation for the Data Engineer:
Salary Range: $100,000-$120,000/year (USD)
Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K.
