About the Client The client is a prominent entity in the home construction industry, embarking on a large-scale HR data transformation initiative. This project aims to centralize all HR data into a Data Lake, alongside the development of AI agents to automate HR and business functions. The primary objective of the role is to provide data engineering and modeling support to accelerate the build of the Data Lake and integration with Workday APIs. Context and Scope This initiative is driven by the need to make HR data accessible, usable, and integrated across systems, enabling more efficient HR and business operations. The project involves creating a centralized Data Lake for HR data and building APIs for seamless data movement between Workday and the Data Lake. The talent will play a crucial role in overcoming challenges such as initial data ingestion, integration complexities, and ensuring scalable data modeling for multiple use cases. This role requires a deep understanding of data engineering principles and the ability to work within a modern technical stack. Tasks and Deliverables • Ingest large volumes of HR data into a Data Lake environment • Develop and maintain APIs for data exchange between Workday and the Data Lake • Design and implement flexible data models to support various downstream use cases • Ensure data security and compliance throughout the data engineering processes • Collaborate with the AI development team for the integration of data workflows into AI agents Required Experience • Proficiency in AWS data tools, Snowflake, MongoDB, and dbt • Strong background in data engineering and data modeling • Experience with API development, particularly for data ingestion and integration • Familiarity with HR data structures and Workday integration • Workday data extraction - experience with Workday API and WQL (Workday Query Language) • Understanding of semantic layer design and security considerations in data handling Engagement Highlights • Opportunity to contribute to a high-impact HR data transformation project • Exposure to a modern tech stack and innovative AI-driven business solutions • Work within a dynamic team environment focused on cutting-edge data engineering practices • Flexible autonomy in problem-solving and technical decision-making Additional Information • Project Duration: 6 months, with potential for extension • Team Structure: Reporting to the Data Engineering Manager, collaborating with a team of data analysts and AI developers • Work Model: Remote • Time Zone: 4-hour overlap with EST • Engagement Type: Full-time (40 hours/week contract based) • Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in their country of residence without employer sponsorship
