Position: Lead Data Engineer 12 Months Contract (Inside ir35) London/Hybrid What we’re looking for: • Proven leadership in developing and guiding data engineering platforms • Hands-on expertise with Hadoop, Spark, and Splunk • Strong scripting skills in Python, with experience handling raw, structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data (SQL and NoSQL) • Experience integrating large datasets using modern tools and frameworks • Ability to build and optimize robust ETL/ELT data pipelines • Familiarity with source control and implementing CI/CD pipelines • Experience supporting BI and Analytics teams within fast-paced environments • Collaborative mindset with the ability to pair program and work effectively with other engineers • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities • Knowledge of agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban is a plus • Commitment to high-quality code, including creating technical test plans and maintaining automated tests • Passion for promoting Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices ensuring service resilience and sustainability Soft Skills: • Strong communication and active listening skills • Enthusiasm for enhancing team performance • Self-motivated with a focus on professional growth and continuous learning • Up-to-date with current technologies and regulatory considerations such as cybersecurity, data privacy, and data residency
