Position Title: R&D Data Engineer
Location: Maple Grove, MN β Hybrid (3 days onsite), transitioning to full onsite (MβF)

About the Role
Join the Interventional Cardiology Coronary Therapies team and support data workflows for complex electro-mechanical medical devices. This position contributes to machine learning and classical algorithm development through the curation, management, and analysis of medical imaging data.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Review, annotate, and organize medical images to support ML and algorithm development
β’ Maintain structured storage of medical images, annotations, and associated metadata
β’ Develop and validate tools for analyzing and processing datasets and medical images
β’ Write, run, and maintain unit tests; support code refactoring and peer code reviews
β’ Collaborate cross-functionally with local and global teams: data scientists, software engineers, clinical engineers, systems engineers, and more
β’ Maintain strict adherence to quality standards and regulatory processes, ensuring patient safety and product integrity
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
β’ Proficiency in SQL and either MATLAB or Python
β’ Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivation
β’ Excellent organizational, communication, and team collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience with DICOM and handling medical imaging (e.g., ultrasound, CT scan data)
β’ Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
β’ Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and image segmentation/classification
β’ Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., MedTech, healthcare, finance)
β’ Understanding of software validation practices and SDLC
β’ Hands-on experience with tool validation and large data pipeline maintenance
β’ Working knowledge of HIPAA, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, or GDPR compliance for medical data

β’ Bachelorβs with 1+ years of relevant industry experience
β’ OR Masterβs with significant project-based or teaching assistantship experience
β’ Internship experience in organizational/regulatory environments preferred
